Fruity Oatmeal

Tips

A great fast, healthy and warm breakfast. Ground flax seeds and wheat germ are another tasty topping I’d recommend. This is a fun recipe to do with kiddos, too.

Ingredients

  • 2 c water

  • ⅛ tsp salt

  • 1 ½ c quick cook oats, can substitute with a very oaty muesli (or mix and match)

  • Handful of raisins or chopped dried fruit of your choice

  • ½ Honeycrisp apple, chopped

  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ Tbsp cinnamon

  • 2 Tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • Fresh fruit of your choice for topping

  • Your preferred milk alternative (pictured with unsweetened almond milk)

 

Preparation

  1. Bring water and salt to a boil in a small saucepan.

  2. Add oats, raisins/dried fruit, apple, vanilla extract, cinnamon and honey.

  3. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 5 minutes.

  4. Serve topped with fresh fruit and milk alternative.
